AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND
Midwinter Doll Teddy & Craft Festival at Howick Recreations Centre, Auckland, New Zealand on 12th - 13th July 2008. This is one of Jan’s favourite events. Always so wonderful to have such a great turnout of Doll Lovers from all over New Zealand.
SYDNEY, NSW, AUSTRALIA
Doll Collector’s Club Doll Show at Blacktown Leisure Centre, Sydney, Nsw, Australia on 26th - 27th July 2008. This is probably the largest doll show in Australasia with people queuing well before the doors open.
RUSSIA
Jan has been invited to make a personal appearance at the Grand Opening of a Russian Art Gallery where she will be exhibiting alongside other Russian artists. Jan is the only artist invited outside of Russia to attend the exhibition. This is an invitation seen as a position of priviledge.
Jan has been commissioned by the Minister of Russian Culture to create a doll which will then be signed by both the Minister and Jan McLean. This Minister of Culture has requested that Jan design and create a doll in keeping with the era and heroine of “Gone with the Wind”. This unique one-of-a-kind doll will then be auctioned and all proceeds will go to a worthy charity.
Russia is an exciting new country for us to do business in. There has been much work going on behind the scenes establishing the connection since we were first approached by a private gallery to supply them with a selection of dolls. This has finally come to fruition with the first order now being processed for shipment.
